  1. Regarding “How the Worm Turns”, the writing seemed to indicate an underlying assumption that various earthworm species are likely to be just as happy, to use Dr James’ example, under a soccer field as in a highly specific ecological niche. Is this scientifically supportable? Are earthworm species any less dependent on very specialized environments than many birds and insects? Or is dirt just dirt in this context?
