8th Avenue rain

This is a painting of a little side street off Eighth Avenue Manhattan–probably somewhere in the 30s. Anytime I'm in New York when it starts to rain, I grab my camera and start looking for umbrellas!

  1. Our workshop with Karin Jurick introduced me to the delights of umbrellas, rain and Manhattan. I’m still using those photos as painting references.
Obviously, you’ve had some opportunities to add to your umbrella NYC photo collection.
