Taos Sunset 6×6

I’ve spent a lot of time in New Mexico over the years, and I only wish I’d managed to capture more beautiful sunsets! This one’s from Taos, taken in the fall when the colors are so rich and deep.

This is painted with gouache. The image is 6×6 and the paper is 140 lb watercolor paper measuring 8×8 inches. There’s a small scuff mark about 1 inch long alongside the edge of the painting in the upper right, made from peeling masking tape away. It won’t show when the painting is framed or matted.

Paintings are signed on the back in pencil. Some of my paintings will have minor scuffs, blemishes, or marks around the edges. This won’t be visible when the painting is framed, and is just part of the art-making process.
