From the Train to Florence, 5×5

This is a mixed-media painting based on a photo I took on the train from Orvieto to Florence. Trains offer the most glorious views of the Italian countryside, but they go by too fast to draw! This is gouache with just a bit of colored pencil and paint pen.

This painting measures 5 x 5 inches. The paper is high-quality 140 lb watercolor paper measuring 6×6 inches.

Paintings are signed on the back in pencil. Some of my paintings are done on-site, which means that the paper may have slight scuffs or very minor blemishes around the edges or on the back. That’s just part of the process of working outdoors.
