Blondie 5×5

Blondie is a chicken I met at a county fair. Some of my best chicken portrait subjects have come from the poultry section of the county fair, or from the chicken beauty contest held annually here in my hometown of Portland, OR. Blondie looks a little frazzled in this portrait, but then again, beauty contests are exhausting.

5 x 5 inches, ink and watercolor on paper. The paper itself measures 6 x 9 inches.

Paintings are signed on the back in pen. Some of my paintings are done on-site, which means that the paper may have slight scuffs or very minor blemishes around the edges or on the back. That’s just part of the process of working outdoors.
