I don’t know what it is about apples. They are fun to paint, and I can get totally absorbed in trying to get those splotches of gold and red just right.
I think I might do a whole series of these apples, but they won’t be up for a while. I’m off to the East Coast soon for some book tour events, and I’m sure that when I’ll get back I’ll have lots of Manhattan scenes I’ll want to paint.
Hi Amy! I met you at last year in February when you were giving a talk about your “Flower Confidential” book at the U.S. Botanical Garden. I really enjoyed it and have read all three of your books (in order of publication, too!). I didn’t know you painted, too! My background and degree was in art and although I do more graphic design and photograph than painting these days, I do try to get back to it often. Your apples painting is really lovely. I would love to have bid on it! Give my blog a visit when you have the time: http://www.cindydyer.wordpress.com. Happy spring!
Thanks for the useful information

Garden flags
Thank you for posting this! I have a series of garden flags wholesale with a similar apple design on them. Very cute.
