The Miami New Times gave Flower Confidential a great little write-up in anticipation of my event at Books & Books in Coral Gables on Feb 10, but quoted me as saying that for Valentine’s Day, I was hoping for "Chinese hydrangeas." What I actually said was "hyacinths" and I went on to explain why I thought they were such a sensual flower–so fragrant, so springlike, so slow to open–but somehow that came across as Chinese hydrangeas.
Anyway, they say: "A brilliant horticultural writer…Stewart’s book gives a dramatic overview of the centuries-old trade, illustrating the life of industry flora from growth to sale."
And the Miami Herald wrote a feature here.
