I’m always a little uneasy when I see the pods for sale in the flower market…but they’re so pretty! Pretty poison pods…wonder what my liability is if I sell them?
God I wish I could plant one of these – they are beautiful!
I think it’s a castor bean – something I know as invasive, not to mention deadly. BTW, I love your Wicked Plants book. I did a review of it in our monthly docent newsletter:
I think it’s castor bean also. Totally native & all over our Southern CA hillsides! mt Mom said they had one right outside their back door when they were kids & they used to play with the beans!
I think that plant is cool. What did the experts say about this plant? It’s a wonderful discovery at all
RE: NY TIMES ARTICLE TODAY 7/29/09
ARE TOMATO LEAVES POISONOUS OR UNHEALTHY IN ANY WAY? CAN WE EAT THEM?
These grow wild all over Los Angeles, all along the freeways. It amazes me that Homeland Security has missed them!
I wonder if I can have one in my bedroom, is so pretty!!
