  Manhattanhenge

So there's this thing that happens in New York City every year that people call Manhattanhenge. The sunset aligns with the city's grid in such a way that you can see amazing sunsets between the buildings.  I happened to be there last year when it was happening, but I had no idea it was such a THING.

Manhattanhenge just happened yesterday (and I wasn't there…sigh….) but here's a view from last year, just after the sun set.  Next year I'm going to be sure to plan my trip around the dates, which get announced ahead of time here.

Check out some lovely Manhattanhenge photos at Gothamist.

6 x 6 inch oil on 1/2 deep board, with grooves in the back so it can be hung unframed.  Sides are painted black.  Click here to bid. Go here to see all my paintings on eBay.  And be sure to check out my gallery on DailyPaintworks.
