Exchange Place

Beautiful little alley in New Orleans.  I think I’ve painted it three times. I saw it in a TV commercial and recognized it immediately, because I’ve done those buildings in the background so many times.

On McAllister

On McAllister

I was in Golden Gate Park one day last spring, and I wandered out of the park and into the neighborhood to take some pictures. I used to drive through this neighborhood all the time and I always fantasized about living there–so here’s my fantasy corner coffee shop. Some of these images are resizing themselves in an odd way.  I’m working on that. Meanwhile, you can get a better look at Daily Paintworks.

Rue Saint-Paul, Old Montreal

Rue Saint-Paul, Old Montreal

I could not stop photographing this narrow old street in Montreal last summer.  Most evenings I would pace around, waiting for the lights to come up.  I could probably just work on Rue Saint-Paul for a year and not run out of material.  It’s a touristy area now–all restaurants and shops and art galleries–but it really is a lovely old European-style piece of Montreal in spite of the souvenirs and overpriced drinks. This is 8 x 10, oil on 1/2 inch panel.  Click here to bid, go here to see all paintings on eBay, and go here...

Girl with Umbrella

I took this photo on a rainy day in the meatpacking district, which is of course not at all about packing meat anymore, and is instead about selling art.  As always–it starts to rain, and I step outside with my camera and start looking for some umbrellas to paint. A bright blue umbrella is a gift–I just followed her around until I got the scene I wanted. 8 x 10 oil on 1/2 inch fiberboard, with slots in the back for easy hanging.  Click here to bid, go here to see more paintings on...

Phone Booth

You almost never see anybody using a phone booth in New York.  Come to think of it, you almost never see a phone booth in New York. This was one of those rainy days when I was walking around Greenwich Village in the rain, looking for interesting shots of wet pavement and umbrellas.  A rainy cityscape. 8 x 10 oil on 1/2 inch board, with slots in the back for easy hanging.  Go here to bid.  You can also see my other paintings on eBay or visit my DailyPaintworks...
